ART PRACTICE IN RESEARCH
I use art at all stages of my research. The practice of art itself is a space of reflection and knowledge production while the visual pieces support dissemination beyond the academic sphere. My practice include photography, digital collage and mixed-media printmaking.
As a research process, my practice also involves active note taking and writing following the development of ideas through art.
All work is currenlty in progress

The process of art making is a key step in analysis, moving through a cycle of data analysis and art making allows me to understand the data in new ways and develop new themes. I combine sociological tools (i.e. coding, note taking, reading) and art making to develop pieces that speak to my data and the research process. Final works on my dissertation project are in progress and still require stages consent before being shared with the public.
